Built in 1978 this is a 'T' registration Triumph Spitfire a traditional convertable British sports car. It has 4 gears so does not have overdrive and comes with both soft and a hard tops so you can switch between them according to the season.

The paint has been professionally done by stripping to the metal in 1998 and it has 4 new tyres in that year that have now done about 5000 miles.

Recently to pass the current MOT, 2 new sills have been fitted. I have also added 2 new overmats with the Triumph name on them.

I have had the car since 1986 and have had many pleasurable years of motoring out of it. It's original colour was yellow with black trim and it is now red. The pedals like all spitfires are offset slightly and you are close to the ground. I have only really needed to go short distances which is why the mileage is so low at 71707 miles.

I would advise the new owner to be over 25 since the insurance for a sports car is rather prohibitive. Also they should be an enthusiast since since repairs and general maintenance can be very expensive if you have a garage do it for you. I have spent a lot of money on it over the years keeping it running and have recently lost my mechanic which meant that I have had to use the services of local garages.

Zero lead 2000 Endorsed by the Federation of British historic vehicle clubs. Apparently according to my research on the web this is amongst the top 5 lead additives. It is measured and added to the tank before filling with unleaded petrol and reduces valve recession by approximately 99.7% or close to this figure.

This is my choice to use an additive rather than lead free 4 star which will probably only be available for several more years before being phased out. The only other alternative was a valve rebuild on the engine but this would cost 400 pounds or more. Using an additive is said to cost less than buying leaded 4 star.
